Angela is a loving wife and nurturing mother of three. She earned her B.A. degree from Lane College and her M.A. degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University-Nashville. As a licensed mental health professional, she is passionate about working with newly diagnosed patients in the IBD community to address the initial adjustment, anxiety, and depression that comes with chronic illness and sudden life changes. In addition, Angela extends her reach in underserved communities where she lives offering support, education, resources and counseling services. She has served more than 10 years in the helping field blazing trails as a mentor, educator, advocate, therapist, and clinical supervisor.
In January 2020, Angela received recognition as an unsung hero for her mentorship and counseling efforts within her community and later had a publication featured in the local newspaper highlighting tips on how to cope with triggers, trauma and griefs related to social injustices. Angela was nominated in six categories as a patient leader for the WEGO Health Awards 2021. Her passion for spreading awareness about IBD and mental health on social media was recognized and commended.
